A ceiling fan transition uses a blade passing across the lens to hide an outfit change. The satisfying part is the match: the same person, pose and room reappear after the wipe, while the clothes have changed. In VideoAny, you supply the person reference rather than filming beneath a fan.
The Ceiling Fan Transition effect creates a 5-second, 720p, 9:16 clip with Seedance 2.5 for 568 credits. It uses one photo as an identity reference. The preset asks for two blade wipes connecting three fully clothed looks: casual streetwear, smart preppy styling and an evening outfit.
1. Choose a photo with enough body information
Use one clear full-body or half-body photo with the face visible. A front-facing pose, relaxed arms and an unobstructed outline provide a useful reference for the new overhead scene. You do not have to be lying down in the original picture.
A tight headshot leaves the model to invent more of the body. Crossed limbs, a large bag across the torso or another person leaning against the subject can also make the pose harder to interpret. Choose simple, even lighting over an image where the face is small or hidden.
The generated shot looks down from the ceiling at a person lying on a rug, so it will not preserve your upload as its opening frame. The photo supplies identity and body references. The AI chooses the outfits; this version does not accept three wardrobe uploads or exact clothing selections.
2. Start the preset in the effect studio
Open the effect, sign in and choose Click to upload under Upload 1 photo. Select a JPG or PNG up to 20 MB, inspect the preview and wait for the upload to finish.
Check the displayed Portrait · 9:16, 5-second clip, Seedance 2.5 · 720p and 568 credits. These are preset values. Uploading a landscape photo will not switch the finished video to landscape, and there is no need to write instructions for each outfit.
Select Generate once when your balance and input are ready. Processing can take several minutes. If you receive a progress or timeout message, check generation history before submitting another request.

3. Count the wipes and compare the gaps between them
First watch at normal speed: can you understand the outfit changes without pausing? Then inspect the clear view between each blade pass. The intended sequence has three looks separated by two wipes, rather than a new outfit behind every visible fan blade.
- Identity: compare the face and hairstyle across all three looks.
- Pose: the head, arms and body should remain in roughly the same place on the rug.
- Timing: a blade should conceal the clothing change; a visible mid-frame clothing melt weakens the transition.
- Room: the rug, floor and camera position should remain coherent between reveals.
A result can have attractive outfits and still fail as a transition if the person shifts across the room after every wipe. Judge the match between looks as carefully as the fashion itself.
4. Choose the next input based on the problem
If the face changes between looks, use a sharper and less filtered portrait. If the body twists or arms multiply, try a straightforward photo with separated limbs. If the reveal is too busy, a clean solo reference gives the model fewer competing shapes to interpret.
You cannot lock an exact jacket or dress through this fixed effect. If exact wardrobe matching is essential, plan a separate editing workflow rather than assuming another generation will reproduce a specific garment.
5. Finish without obscuring the transitions
Use Download video after the result appears. The clip is silent, so add sound separately and align beats with the two blade wipes. Avoid placing a large caption across the middle where the fan passes. Preview the final vertical edit at phone size: viewers should be able to see the face and all three looks during the brief clear intervals. Identify the finished scene as AI-generated.
